quote: I called the SOS who said I should contact an attorney and that they can't do anything about it. I am filling out a statement of fact of the fraud for the insurance company. I also forwarded a letter to the SOS by certified mail with the info and document in case I'm ever accused of anything.
A very, very wise thing to do.

You aren't allowed to advertise this way. Who do you think you are?

Not specifically a notary issue, but my husband and I have both had our credit card numbers used in places we've never been. We've had to close accounts to clear things up. The real hassle is making sure all the auto withdrawals are carried to the new card

Today I got a call from a popular insurance company about wanting a line item from my journal. The lady at the company was upset saying I notarized a lien release of an auto signed allegedly by their rep. It was notarized and submitted to the CA DMV. She was blaming me for not getting the person's business card and I had to explain we don't notarize capacity in California.
She sent me a copy of the document and I saw someone had a fake notary stamp with my name on it (I'm the only one in the world with that name) and in my county. It had a different commission and expiration number as well.
I called the SOS who said I should contact an attorney and that they can't do anything about it. I am filling out a statement of fact of the fraud for the insurance company. I also forwarded a letter to the SOS by certified mail with the info and document in case I'm ever accused of anything.
This followed the previous evening I spent on the phone with a bank about a credit card charge in Florida for $269 worth of merchandise at a clothing store I didn't make.
The crooks are out there. I was in line with a lady who asked for my card at the post office and she shared a similar story with her credit card too.
Sincerely yours,
