Lawyers are fairly easy to collect from when you know the right buttons to push. Research how to file a complaint with the Bar Association in the state where the lawyer is located. You will probably have to file a complaint against a specific attorney rather than a law firm. When I file a complaint, I choose the name of the owner of the law firm, who has directed his/her employees to secure my services. Also, be sure to word your complaint appropriately - such as stating that the attorney "failed to fulfill contractual obligations".

What I have done in the past is write the professionally-worded letter of complaint addressed to the appropriate State Bar, faxed a courtesy copy to the lawyer's office with a note that I will be submitting the complaint on XX date (don't give them too long). I have had to resort to this twice, and both times I received immediate contact and payment. Or, if you are really mad, just send the letter and let them explain to the State Bar why they have not fulfilled their contractual obligations.

BEWARE!!!This person and company: Amber Schronce

The Law Offices of Brent F. King, PLLC

Paralegal for Brent F. King and Kayce C. Staehle

9525 Birkdale Crossing Drive, Suite 306

Huntersville, NC 28078

P: 704-896-3070 or 704-766-0637, Ext. 215

F: 704-896-3097 or 704-943-2679

Hired me for a closing on December 16, 2011. They have not paid me and are giving me the run around. Then the girl had the nerve to send an email saying she didn't appreciate me turning her over to collections. I made several attempts to collect- I was always polite- "just inquiring about payment status" and was lied to several times about the status of payment- have been asked 2x to to resubmit invoices. On top of that- the whole loan package had the borrowers middle and last named switched and we had to make corrections on every page because of that. Also, no one was available--during normal business hours- to speak to on the phone.
