My best advice is to research each company that you accept work from as soon as you get off the phone with them or as soon as you receive the email confirmation. If they have a poor repuation on the notary chat boards, then turn the job back in to them ASAP. I did that just today with a new-to-me company. Once I got off the phone with them, I looked them up on 123Notary, Notary Rotary, and Google. Turns out they have a lot of late-payment issues, so when the email comfirmation finally came over, I responded by politely telling them that I must give the job back to them for re-assignment due to the poor payment reviews from fellow notaries.

With the ones that currently owe you, try contacting the title company on each job and ask for their assistance in getting XX company to pay you. Keep bugging all invoved. Search the notary boards for collection techniques - there is a lot of good info available.

I am having trouble being paid. One case took 75 days. Another two cases over 100 days. Calling in you cannot reach the responsible parties in Vendor's Services.

I was told today, 2/1/12 that their policy is 90 days. Yet the notary has milage, paper and toner to purchase right away. That is a poor turn-around- time.
