This is a 2 page (full) with a little bit on the 3rd page. Settlement Agent is mentioned many, many times. I just don't feel that it is correct. Maybe I will do as you say, and ask them if they sent me the wrong one. Maybe they did. I'll see what happens. Thanks.

For me it would depend on the contents of the agreement and what I would end up "signing up" for. You're right - we're not "settlement agents" - we're notaries.

If the form isn't too long I might go through it, line through "settlement agreement" and insert "notary public" and initial, again providing that the agreement is not contracting you for duties beyond your scope. Or, as you said, simply ask them for another correct one (perhaps that one was sent in error?) - either way, I personally would not sign up with a company as a "settlement agent".

AFA has sent me a Service Agreement Settlement Agent form to sign. I have always been told that I am not a "Settlement Agent". Should I sign this as is or ask them to change it to Notary Public or some other name (be nice). Any suggestions? Thanks
