It is always the county where the notarization takes place. If you are not in Montgomery county and that is what is printed on the certificate, then draw a single line through the county name and write in the correct county name and then place your initials by the cross-out or attach a new notarial certificate with the correct information written in.
As a Notary Public for the state of Pennsylvania, you are expected to know your state laws regarding completing a notarial certificate. If you're not sure what is correct, you should download the handbook and re-read it again. A good practice would be to carry the handbook with you so you can refer to it when needed. |

Hello! Here is the acknowledgement that I use a lot. On the top is: County of Montgomery, which is the county I received my commission from. Should this always be county of my commission or the county where notarization is performed? Thanks!
United States of America; Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; County of Montgomery
On this, the 5th day of December, 2011, before me a notary public, the undersigned officer, personally appeared citizens listed above, satisfactorily proven to be the persons whose names are subscribed to the within instrument, and acknowledged that they executed the same for the purposes therein contained. In witness hereof, I hereunto set my hand and official seal. |
