I hand the papers to the BO, one at a time. To flip my pages, I use a grey "sanford Magic rub " erasor. Works great! and no licking. Can be found at any office depot. I love that method so much, i have an erasor at every desk in my office, sitting on the calculator. |

I getthe rubber finger tips in size large at Office Depot real cheap, special order and delivered by UPS in days for about $7. I dont care if they lick their fingers although I wouldnt do it- its trashy looking esp for a business person. |

I always use the pink sort quick and offer it to my clients and they are pleased that I have a solution to the problem I can share.
I am highly allergic to the rubber fingers and find this a great alternative. No longer have to worry about the sizing issue.
I do hope this helps others.

Good point Lee - didn't catch that - I only give them one doc at a time too and my hands are always holding the pages...

I would love to buy a rubber finger but my local stores (Staples and Office Depot) only carry small and medium. I have large hands and I need a large size rubber finger. I can buy online but would need to place an order for $50 in order to get free shipping.
I've used SortKwik on occasion.

Non-issue with me, too. It's a hard habit to break, but I did break it long ago - doesn't mean I impose my same personal rule on anyone else. I just don't think it looks very professional or polite.
If I did have an issue with touching paper someone might've infused a little saliva on ....I wouldn't be able to touch my favorite kind of paper - MONEY! =)

Me either - no problem with this - unless they're drooling bile or pus or something it doesn't bother me - must admit I'm guilty of the same thing on occasion...people are who they are, and you'll get just as many germs from the air in the homes (sometimes) or walking through a grocery store. As long as they're not leaving puddles of saliva all over the docs this, to me, is no biggie.
Terminate a signing over it? No, IMHO I wouldn't take it that far - that, to me is overreacting and pushing the envelope on your control of the situation...

I said exactly the same thing to my cat. I said, "Excuse me young lady, but you are going to have to stop licking your paws right this instant missy!!". And then she ignored me. I asked again and then she hissed at me. I couldn't believe this.

It's pretty common. Someone in the habit of "wetting" their finger - on their mouth (lips, tongue, etc.) to help flip the pages. I for one, do not allow this practice. To my complete astonishment I have had signers highly offended when I insist (politely) that they discontinue such activity. "Are you saying I have germs?" is a common response!! My reply is to ask how they would feel if the persons who prepared the documents they are handling did the same thing. I tell them to moisten a piece of paper towel or tissue and use that in place of their mouth. It sometimes becomes a real problem as a very few don't get the message and continue their (somewhat) disgusting habit. After two or three requests it my policy to issue what amounts to a "final warning". "If you do that again - I will have to terminate this session, collect the documents, and depart". That has ended the problem - so far.....
