May I also recommend you take a look at www.mint.com. This is a free software that I recommend to my tax clients. You can set it up to pull your transactions from your banks and then once you have done this a couple of times it will remember the accounts for your transactions. Then at the end of the year you print out a report and give that to your accountant. You will find your accountant will charge you less if they have to do less work.

I use Dennis Phillips in Redlands CA and he knows the tax issues with notaries (self employment taxes/etc.

Would you recomend a tax preparer for me to go to after I get all my numbers together?
