How to market your notary services on directories. New notaries want to know how to market their business. Advertising on websites is the most cost effective way to go. But, which websites, and what type of listings to get? Every notary has their own luck with certain directories, so there is no set answer. But, there are certain directories that consistantly deliver some regular work to their notaries.
Most popular sites. 123notary.com, notaryrotary, notarycafe, and signingagent.com are the best four ( in that order ). There are others too, but the other ones don't have as reliable of a track record.
Be on top! 123notary offers high placed listings which are the listings that generate the most business for the notary. Browsers go through the list from top to bottom, and the ones at the bottom get called when the notaries on the top don't answer their phone, or reject the job ( usually because it doesn't pay enough ).
Get a website! Starting your own website is another good idea for advertising, but if you don't know what you are doing, there is much to lose. Websites are expensive to start, and require regular maintenance. Getting good search engine placement is a real art. Don't start a website unless you are very serious about the business and about investing in your site.
Online yellow pages There are dozens of online yellow pages. Which one is best? Call notaries who advertise on each one, and find out what theyhave to say. Also, find out which yellow pages is most user-friendly and shows up best on google.
Do your homework! Ask around, contact notaries on various directories and find out what word in the street is about where the business is coming from! Be smart before you spend your hard earned cash.
