Vince, it is Closing Masters. Notaryservices posted again and updated the name on a different thread. I found it right after I posted my comments.

Agree with Glenna that Liz should reconsider posting the name of the company or service so that they are penalized (by notaries that care to check on reputation) for the lack of payment as promised. |

Who was this company and did you get a confirmation for each assignment? If you did, then you have a contract saying they would pay you each time. If it was all verbal, then this will be a learning experience for you to ALWAYS get each promise in writing. They can blab "no problem" every time since they need you, but you need to insist that promise be put in writing. This is business deal and you should have no problem asking for this and if they have integrity, they should have no problem with providing this.

I did a closing for this company and had to make three trips. The first one took almost an hour and a half and the borrower called the loan officer numerous times - the package was messed up and the loan officer finally stopped the closing. The loan officer said he would make sure we were paid full amount for the first trip because the package was not correct and we were there even longer than usual. The second trip was made and the borrower still was not happy with the package, but finally (after another hour and a half) signed and said he would discuss with the loan officer. When I took this second trip signing, I reminded them that I expected full payment for the first trip and was told "no problem". Three days after the second trip, I was contacted a third time because there were some papers that had been left out of the second package. I said I would do this and quoted them a price for the third trip and reminded them of the first two and gave them a TOTAL for all three trips..... again "no problem". When it came time to receive pay - they argued that they would not pay for the first trip..... gave me a bunch of BS and finally hung up on me. You usually get an answering machine when you call, but after numerous tries, I finally got a live person. Both owners got on the phone, were very rude and said they would not pay the total they had agreed upon. I finally gave up and said- just send me what you want, but don't call me again...... I definitely would not waste my time with a company like this again. |
