I did my first closing for them and enjoyed the experience. They were friendly and professional, got the documents to me in a timely fashion, and sent me a thank you email for helping them out. Their $100 fee was okay, until I got the edocs and found 170 pages to print off for two sets of docs. This was very disappointing. I expected a lot less.
All-in-all, I enjoyed working with them, but not the amount of paper to print off for the low fee. There were no fax backs, which is a HUGH relief.
I have been a notary for more than 15 years. I have done over 3,000 signings. Love animals and small children. I am NNA certified. |

I did some for them before I took my full time 9-5 in August, 2011 - I enjoyed working with them, no handholding, got paid on time (had direct deposit too).
I like them

I love Equity and their entire staff. In 2012 I did maybe 25 closings for them but when 2013 hit they were calling me left and right. They pay within 14 days of closing. I've never had a problem with them. I did one closing where the loan docs changed after I printed the first set but they paid me a print fee so it was no big deal. I always accept their closings and am happy when they call. |

Yup, Equity National only wants to pay $100, but they are soooooo picky, demand absolute perfection, rate your performance on every closing, and have so many rules and handholding calls that I will not do them for less than $150. Some notaries love them, but I won't deal with their baggage for $100; that is my rock-bottom-of-the-barrel-only-in-my-zip-code fee, and baggage is not included in that price. |

I have had the same experience with Equity National Title. They tried to get me to lower my fee by $25.00 stating I said was $25 less than what I was asking for when they called. I even told them I had a check in hand from them made out for my asking fee. They also tried to pull the "well, other notaries in your area go for less" stitch. I hate to lose them as a client because they do pay on time and do get documents to you on time, but I take pride in my work and I have expenses that need to be covered.

Booking closings with me and cancelling a week later when they found someone cheaper. I'd be a bit cautious! I'd give them two thumbs down!

PAW, I'm not taking your post as either ridicule or sarcasm. In the case of critiquing a company, those reading need not help themselves to a search engine. The poster needs to provide as much identifying info as they have and if that's just a city/state, no problem. More info would be better. In the case where someone has a question, a little research may be in order but for company critiques - location info needs to be included. JMHO

It's my understanding that this company has very recently gone to scheduling thru ValuAmerica....where you pay them for the business!

This is true with many names, but when the full and unique name, such as Equity National Title & Closing Services, Inc. or AMC Settlement Services is provided, then I suggest that there probably isn't too many companies with that name. Of course, this doesn't apply in situations such as A-1 Signing or National Title.
I certainly agree that any time someone posts a question about a company, it is always beneficial to include, at least, the city/state where that company is located.

PAW, it's better if the original poster writing the critique (good or bad) provide more than a company name but include identifying info (address, website, etc.) so there's no mistake about who they are referring to. I could google ABC Company and find five different locations. Then I'd have to pop back in here and ask "Of the five locations for ABC Company I found, which one have you worked with?" If OP provides identifying info to begin with, then everyone's clear. |

Lisa, why not just Google the name? Or, if you prefer, use Yahoo, Bing, or any of the other major search engines.
BTW, I agree, Equity National Title is an excellent company to work with.
