With interest rates at their lowest rate in over 30 years, I had steady calls last quarter. Now that they are creeping back up, I expect a decline in calls.
It is possible that you have new competition in your area. I believe I have new competition that is under-cutting my rate.

They must have advertised more heavily here. It’s been very busy and many “newer” title companies coming out of the woodwork. Most of the newer ones pay off the HUD, so payment is typically reasonable and quick.

I have no explanation for it but we've been busy here to the point of ridiculous - more than back in 2005 even. Not just me, either - but others in my area as well. It always seems to go that way though - feast for one area and famine in another.

Despite the average predicaments out there, what I'm personally seeing are primarily 'high-end' refi's - those with stellar credit, mostly doing rate/term, sometimes with cash to make up for lost equity.

Just curious. I'm a mobile notary in eastern Wisconsin. Calls have dried up to a trickle. Is anyone else noticing a significant drop in calls during the past month in other parts of the country?
