11AM calls to ask fee, 3PM ships docs. Never confirmed assignment. LOTS and LOTS of "MUST DOs" in gigantic type (with yellow highlighting!). Now for the funny part:
Nowhere did they ever confirm the fee amount in writing. Nowhere did they even hint at the borrower signing location or phone.
When I, totally surprised, received this mess; I told them it would have to be PayPal prior to printing.
They faded away much to my relief........
But, you decide for yourself; see their "Vendor Policy" page:

Ask the company to sign-up with www.ShipTropolis.com so you can print UPS and Fedex Air Bill labels on demand on their account.
1. ShipTropolis.com is secure for the title/escrow/lending company. 2. It's easy for notaries to quickly create labels on demand. 3. It ensures the notary does not get wrongfully stuck with the shipping cost.
Cheers, Bob

CopperheadVA,
That's a great idea! A "no no ring"! Great, thanks.

Thanks both of you for posting this! They called me today for a closing. They wouldn't agree to my fee, so I declined the job. But now I've coded them in my phone with my special "no-no" ring. If they call again, I'll know not to bother answering.

Took 3 months to get paid, which included 2 phone calls and an email.
Also, they gave me the UPS account info for returning docs to FNA DOT/RTS -- that company refused to pay the shipping charges. During the past 4 months, I have left over 20 voice messages and 3 emails. I finally received an email yesterday saying they would send me a check to cover the UPS charges. I don't expect to receive it.
A hard lesson learned -- anytime you hand print a UPS label, do NOT put your shipper info, put the document co/title co/lender info, etc... so you're not harassed with it.
