Anyone else receiving this reason for why a notary is needed now?

Twice this week, I received calls from signing companies about the need for a notary now due to scheduled notaries going to the hospital! The first call came in about 5:30PM, the signing company said, "We need a notary to do a loan signing. This evening. The scheduled notary was rushed to the hospital." (A day before I received a call from them for a low ball offer of $75 for edocs to sign the same loan at 6PM the next day. My $150 fee didn't fit their budget.)

A couple of days later, I receive a call from another signing company, stating the notary who completed a loan signing a couple of days ago needs to send them a couple of notary certificates. The notary "just had a concussion and is going to the hospital." We need a notary to pick up the documents and courier them to us. I declined, as my personal experience with this signing company is they are slow to pay which is also the experience of many other notaries who have commented on this forum, as well as other notary boards. SoCal Signing is the company.
