I use Emu oil on leather - makes it very soft, stinks a bit.

Jeremy - hopefully you've been just air-drying your boots and not using heat. Stuff dry micro-fiber rags inside (they're SUPER absorbant) and remove right away, then just let the boots dry at room-temp. Then, recondition the leather with Lexol leather conditioner. Lexol is what they use on saddles - even show saddles that cost 10k - and they get soaked in salty sweat, rained on, caked in mud, etc.

Hmm. I just went hiking and it rained on me. All of my money got wet. I had to use a hair dryer to dry all the bills off. My boots will never recover from the one foot deep flood areas I had to walk through. Oh well.... I guess Ken's idea doesn't work with wet bills.

To honor our fearless leader, "JB" - I invite all members of this noble body to make a ring out of a dollar bill. I have posted VERY step by step (with bunches of pictures) instructions on my web site.
It's link is located at the bottom of the page (just over my right ear) and it's called: How to Make a Ring out of a Dollar Bill.

Don't try to access from you blackberry as its a bit over 1 Meg in size (lotsa pictures) - the procedure has been tested and works really fine. Just be sure to use a CRISP one dollar bill! Enjoy!
