Did two signings in 11/07. Have not heard from again. Paid well and in 47 days.
Let them know you will (1) Make a complaint with BBB if no payment received by.....(date). (2) Call once a week, ask by every means..fax, e-mail billing statements once a week until paid. If its worth doing it is worth seeking payment!
Good luck! Hope you can post a positive soon.
Also post on Notary Rotary and Notary Beware. One of those help to get payments also (whose name is Linda). I lost e-mail! |

Looks like you'll have to look into your state's small claims procedures and if you can file a small claims action against them I'd draft one and forward it to them with a 10-day drop dead date.
BTW, don't forget your interest, if allowed by statute, and your late fees.

I have given sufficient time for the first check which hasn't ever come in the mail as they said it would even though they have cancelled it. I have also given sufficient time for the mysterious 2nd check to come in the mail. I am working with the title company and they are seeing what they can do to help me. As I stated, I have exhausted myself in all areas. The title company has informed me that they are no longer using them so this tells us alot as well. This company is avoiding their responsiblities and as far as I'm concerned they need to be reported.

I did a reverse mortgage for this company back in October, I have called and left messages and have not received a courtesy call back yet. They have communicated to me by email that they have sent payment, cancelled payment and reissued another check, all to different emails that have gone back and forth over the 2 1/2 month period. I have exhausted myself in being kind and patient. I will proceed in calling the AG office in Mississippi and California. My expert advise is do not except any signings from this company.
Lacey:
If they issued payment and canceled it - ask them to show you copies of the documentation of this. How long ago did they re-issue payment? Have you given them sufficient time for the re-issue and mailing (although IMO they SHOULD have overnighted payment to you)...I ask because you don't say how long since the stop payment and reissue...
In the meantime, before you go to the AG (who has a full plate as it is) - call and write the title company and LO....AFTER you make sure your security instrument recorded (proof that your loan funded) ... get the title company's help in chasing your money.
Good Luck!!

I replied to this topic several months ago and said how wonderful Pac. Dox was and that Allisa was "so helpful". Well, I have changed my tune! She owes me for two signings in July and Sept. I, too, contacted the title company and they said that there were several notaries that had not been paid and that they would try to contact Pac. Dox and get them to pay me. So far, I have not received any money! Why do these signing companies think that they are above paying us for our services? Do they think we are so stupid not to know that they have already been paid by the title companies?

After being asked to do a closing for this company and reading this forum, I expressed my severe concerns. Therefore, I sent my invoice through Paypal and also emailed Alissa in regards to my concerns. Alissa emailed me immediately, she understood my doubts and sent the Paypal BEFORE I went to the closing the next day.
Times are tough for all of us, however I do applaud Alissa for attempting to clear her past record. I will be happy to do another closing for Pacfic Dox and Alissa with the Paypal invoicing techinique.

Bad News. The only way I got paid was to talk to the title company and let them know how she operates. I got paid immediately. Always call the title company (and the broker if that doesn't work). |

Received payment finally - hope the rest of you do also. You might try the route we took for collecting your fees. Worth a shot.

I have reported Pacific Dox (Alissa Thomas) to the BBB (just for the heck of it - they can do nothing) and to the tile company that hired them. I have also refer this company to the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) for failure to pay and using the internetand phone to hire notaries and then not pay. They have refused to return vm, emails, faxes etc. in ref to an outstanding invoice. BEWARE

I agreed to close a loan for Alissa Thomas of Pacific Dox on May 3. I printed more than 300 pages of loan docs, and drove 34 miles one way to the closing. The agreed upon fee was $100. When I arrived at the borrower's home, borrower refused to sign anything. She claimed that she had never received any communication from their LO, no RESPA disclosures, no notification of interest rate - nothing. I called Alissa Thomas and advised her of the situation. She was very apologetic and stated that she was so sorry this happened, and she would definitely pay me because I printed so many docs and drove that distance for nothing. It is now August 16, and I have not received one cent from her. My calls all go to voice mail and she will not answer my calls or my e-mails. 2 days ago, I filed an online complaint with the FTC. From reading this forum as well as others, it appears she only pays notaries that are close enough to pay her a visit. Out of state notaries are not paid. BEWARE OF PACIFIC DOX AND ALISSA THOMAS DON'T WORK FOR HER IF YOU DON'T LIVE NEXT DOOR IN HER APARTMENT BUILDING. |

The first signing was on April 30 2008 and the other one was on May 2 2008. Each time I tried to contact Alissa I was put into voicemail or no reply on email or fax. I contacted Alissa from another area code and she answer the phone saying that payment was in the mail. It took me sending information to the BBB, certified letters and a ton of faxes to receive my payment on June 30, 2008. I hope the check that was sent to me is some good! From the way it looks Alissa will take care of Signing Agents in her area because she do not want any problems but Agents outside of her area she will give them the run around.

I have work for Pacific Dox and Alissa Thomas has not paid in over 60 days and will not answer the phone or email. I have had to call from another area code in order for her to answer the phone. Once she answer it's "The check is in the mail". I have provided over 1500 signing within my 15 years and have never receive the run around that I have receive from Alissa Thomas at Pacific Dox.
