I'm certainly not an authority as I've not found these to be a profitable activity. Recently, I received a call to do an inspection that was only about 5 miles from me. We talked a bit about it & I 'thought' it was doable for $75. When I got the paperwork outlining what they wanted...take at least 35 pictures.
2% of the occupied rental units.
5% of the unoccupied rental units.
7 pages of questions with (possibly) multiple answers;
What kind of flooring, cabinets, walls, etc., etc., in each(take pics)
Any damage in units, elsewhere, things that need replacement/repair. (take more pics)
And on and on it went. This type of inspection, imho, should be done be a licensed person for a whole lot more money than they were offering me. I gave it back to them.

How much do you usually make from each appointment?
How much time do you put into them?
How long does it take for people who buy the materials to start getting a steady income from it?
Thanks for any response.

apaloosa,

Did you order the list today? I received an order from AZ this morning that was returned undeliverable. If so, the email address you have associated with your paypal account is not working. Here is the error message I got when I tried to send you the list:

I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following
addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

Please email me directly at floridasnotary@yahoo.com with you correct email address.

No, the list has companies that hire Nationwide, regionally and Statewide. About 50% of the companies on the list are Nationwide. I have also included links to BPO companies, field inspection forums and links to more free lists. You can find all the info you need on my website. If you still have questions, please email me.

The thread in the Free for All section is entitled "Sticky: Best info for foreclosure pic taking" and is the very first post in the section. The post has a lot of good information to get you started.

I would NEVER, let me repeat, NEVER take an inspection course offered by any notary association, I don't care what notary association.

First of all, the inspections that you will be sent on DO NOT require an XYZ certification and probably never will. They do not require any certification beyond the company training that you may or may not receive.

Second, what firms have actually endorsed this program, if any?

Lastly, is the course accredited by the NACHI, NAHI, ASHI OR AHITI? Let me answer that, NO!

Please, please, please, don't fall for the new, next best thing that the XYZ has discovered to part you with your hard earned money. Remember background checks? How's THAT working for you?

You can start doing field inspections tomorrow without any training. Visit my website, read the link Jeremy has provided in this section entitled "Best information on field inspections" or something very close to that and do your own research. Then, thank me for saving you $300-$400 bucks.

Has anyone taken the training for Home Inspector? I see that it is being offered at a great discount on National Signing Agents and just wondered if anyone has experience with this. It sounds like a good idea as all housing loans have to have an inspection at $300 - $400 a pop.
Thanks for any info
