Jep, you really need to up your fees. I don't know what the market is like where you live, but I agree with Debi - I think you should charge at LEAST $150 for an e-doc signing 35 miles from where you live.

A good rule of thumb might be to charge $1.50 - $2.00 per mile one-way, then $25 for e-docs, and on top of that you should charge whatever you think your time is worth to sit with borrowers for an hour (or longer) once you're at their house. Just my humble opinion, of course.

Once you look at it, it is hard to imagine how you could print two copies of standard refi documents, drive 70 miles round trip for the amount of money you indicated and have anything left over to cover all other overhead expense. You should look hard at your business plan to determine what your hourly rate will yield at these fee levels after all expense is considered.

What are you thinking doing e-signings for such a low fee. I would not do an e-signing for less than 125 and that is only a base fee.

I live in a remote area and often need to drive 30-50 miles one way for a signing. With gas prices creeping towards $4/gallon what would be considered fair compensation for travel? Are there guideline anywhere for this? I feel that I am being taken advantage of when I have e-docs and drive 70 miles RT for $75-$80.
