I like National Notary Assoc magazine. It has super info usually. But, does anyone know about National Notary Group? I received a call to do a signing for this group and could not find them anywhere. So, I advised them that since I have never done work for them, I would need a retainer fee. I was told they do not do that. I said until I have a pay history with you, I need the retainer. Well, I was passed on but some new companies have paid me. Now, according to BBB, this group does not exist! There is no info except that they are connected with National Notary Association??? Anyone have info?? I refuse to work for new companies who have no record with Notaries. It was a 300 page doc! Thanks for replies.

It depends on what you are looking for in an organization.
I belong to the U.S. Notary Association, the American Society of Notaries and the National Notary Association. It is NOT cheap to belong to all of these; however, each one has its different points.
My personal opinion is that the U.S. Notary Association is best on legal topics and information for generalist notaries public. The ASN is also best for generalist notaries public. The NNA magazine and section newspapers contain current trends. They also appear to be targeting their organization toward small business entrepreneurs who want to turn their public commission into a profitable portion of their business (not just those who serve as public officials), such as eNotarization and mobile signing agent business.
If you want to advertise a business, then you need to look to the web sites the average consumer or mortgage closing scheduler will look to; like this one and a few others than can be found with a google search. |

I hear a lot of people downgrading the NNA. Does anyone have a suggestion as to any other organization to become a member with? |
