Adobe 8.0 working fine on my New Vista.....used it several times yesterday with no issues.... wondering, is your Vista software from an upgrade or on a new component/CPU? I think Adobe has always been a bit twitchy as well as being a memory hog

They want $440 for the pro version too....brother can you spare a dime?

I had to remove Adobe 8 today from Vista computer. I installed Adobe 6 and this one works.

The Adobe 8 wouldn't not work with my new Vista Windows system; and it told me it would look for the problem with Adobe 8 and if it could fix it Microsoft would get back to me when the problem was fixed?

This has gone on for 4 days and I just removed 8 and re-installed #6

For some reason I have had to go back to 6.0.. I tried the newer version 7.01 (I think) resulting in some of my files printing terribly slow. My son tells me if the company that sent the doc's are not using the newer version and I am then the files will print slow. But when I use the older version things usually print the way they are supposed to. Go figure.

Adobe Reader is FREE. Always has been and continues to be. However, there are versions of Adobe Acrobat that are not free (many offer an evaluation period). These versions allow you to generate, edit and otherwise modify PDF files, whereas the Reader is just that... a Reader.

The latest version (version 6) has been update twice as of this writing. If you currently are using version 6.0.0, you need to download and install the 6.0.1 version. Once installed, you need to update (from within the 6.0.1 version) to version 6.0.2.

You can download the free reader from Adobe at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

Also, please be aware that the Adobe Reader (or any version of the full Acrobat product) will not help or hinder downloading of PDF files. The software can install a browser "plug-in" to allow you to view PDF files on the internet through your browser, but the file is still downloaded to your local PC through normal, conventional means.

Please let us know if having the most current version of Adobe acrobat helps with downloading. I want to hear from people who currently do a lot of signings please. http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/main.html has the new download but it seems to be for 30 day trial only for the professional version. There is a free version too according to Carmen on that site.
