The UNAA (formerly the MWNA) is a freight train moving through this industry on a steady course, and gaining speed every day. Like Shannon and Cheryl here, I'm hugely excited about it, and thrilled to be participating in bringing this professional organization to the forefront.
There are so many different groups, organizations, listing sites, etc - and it's important to categorize them by their purposes. Most of them have a primary purpose, and then add in additional services to that primary purpose.
123 Notary and Notary Rotary are still the big dogs for being listed on and found by clients. They are PRIMARILY listing services, they also have forums and sell supplies, and offer some fundamental information - but they are not 'professional organizations' and aren't intended to be. Go Mobile Notary is in this mix, as well.
Currently, Notary Rotary is the only one (that I'm aware of) offering background checks as an alternative to those who want one, but do not want to belong to the NNA.
The UNAA is building on their listing service (already operating), as is The Signing Registry (soon to be operating). The Signing Registry (TSR) is a 'community' or a 'club' of very professional people and has always commanded a high degree of respect for that.
Then you have the groups that are strictly social, such as the MNN and the MWNA ning sites and several Yahoo groups - intended and functioning as virtual water-coolers, and nothing more.

Please join me at our newly renamed site:
The UNITED NOTARY ASSOCIATION of AMERICA (UNAA)- www.mwna.net (formerly known as MWNA).
We are forming State Chapters and looking to improve our profession as Notary Signing Agents. As California Chapter Leader, I'd like to extend an invitation to all of you looking for an alternative to other associations. If you truly wish to belong to an organization for notaries by notaries and where your input is of value, become a member.

Tips for using the forum
The most important feature on the forum is the search box. You can look up a particular word, phrase, name of a company, and see a potentially large list of search results with which you can obtain data. Filters are also valuable. If you want to find popular posts, you can use the number of views filter. You can also see whats new with the active topics link. Email us at info@123notary.com if you need any help using the notary forum.
Resources
The notary public resource page is valuable as it has links to all of the free information pages for notaries. Pages linked to the resource page include a page that teaches you everything you need to know to get the most out of your listing. Another page teaches you all the secrets of getting paid. There is a link to our free list of signing companies. There is also a glossary, learning tools, and much more.
If you are a notary, the free tips we give are invaluable.
Popular pages
If you visit 123notary.com often, you might want to visit some of our most popular pages such as the California notary, Texas notary, Florida notary, and New York notary pages to browse the site.
