Why anyone would purchase a marked up book from a second party is beyond me - why not just go right to the source and get it at the least expensive price?

Kelly, I looked at NR and found the price to be $79. That's the same price I paid Kathy/SR years ago. It seems to be the exact same price...so what mark up do you refer to?

It's a great book, by the way.

Kelly, thanks for clearing that up. Heartily disagree with you on this one, but as you said, you're certainly entitled to your opinion (as am I). The experiences you had on Notary Rotary were not favorable for you and/or your business if I remember correctly. Peace

At the risk of being misquoted by others, I am referring to Kathy partnering with the owner of Notary Rotary. I've already discussed this with Kathy long ago and it's clear that I am entitled to my opinion but that's where it ends. Business is Business and like you and me, Kathy has a right to choose her affiliates.

I've aligned myself with nothing but honest and first-class individuals. Like attracts like and I love my affiliates to include 123 notary, NotaryTrainer.com, EinersonSurety, CleanPrintJournal, American Notary Group, NotaryClasses.com, GoGetNotary.com, Linda Kassis and her site, UNAA (sorry Linda, I always get the acronym wrong), and AcademyforNotaries to name a few. FIRST-CLASS ALL THE WAY - I'm so honored to be associated with these groups and more! Check out my Affiliates on my site and patronize them! ox

Assume the she is Kathy (not Sylvia who is still a nice lady that also runs a ss) and who is "the devil" you are referring to? Just still curious.

Hi Vince. Kathy sells (or sold) her book on Notary Rotary. Since I don't participate in that site, I'm not sure any more but I see that Tim says it's still being sold there as of 4/30/07.

Like I said, it's been many years, but when I read Kathy's book, I thought it was excellent. I'm glad her site is finally updated - I'll be sure to check it out. I enjoyed my membership when the Signing Registry first came about and I was one of the first to sign up and participate in that forum. I remember the only thing I didn't like was that a chosen few that were signing companies could also participate and in those days, that just didn't seem right to me. Now, I could care less! It's all good as long as the conversation is productive and benefits the membership as a whole.

Now up and running as either http://www.signingregistry.com/ (the old address) or as http://www.signingagentregistry.com (the new and improved site). Interested in who "the devil" is that Kelly is refering to.

Tim - please allow me to correct you since I was a Charter Member of the SR, around during its' inception: Sylvia Mease IS a signing service and was one of the original's as well. Perhaps the rules have changed or perhaps Sylvia is no longer a ss. She's a great lady and pretty smart too, very easy to like and comfortable with notary law from many states. Of course, she's a LSA too.

Why anyone would purchase a marked up book from a second party is beyond me - why not just go right to the source and get it at the least expensive price? When I read Kathy's book a few years back, I thought it was excellent. However, the site's been "being updated" for years so I'm not sure how up-to-date Kathy's book is now. We don't communicate much since she sold her soul to the devil. JK

If you go to the website home page you'll see a drop menu to look at different areas. There's a topic there about membership extensions - they're extending memberships until the launch is complete, I think to compensate for the down time..

I had heard that they were one of the best -- frustrated right now because I signed up more than six months ago, and the website still doesn't have the "registry" part up & running. That is what I paid for and my main purpose in joining.

The Signing Registry is one of my top 4 or 5 favorite sites. It is not so much a directory of NSAs, as it is a community for and by NSAs. SSes and TCs are not allowed to join and you have to have some experience as an NSA to join (I think that bar is set a bit low, but it aint my site so what the heck!). Kathy Poston's book is awesome (Notary Rotary sells it, too, rather than going to the trouble of making up their own book.)

Highly recommended.
