Notary Examination

Function: noun

An examination that one needs to take in order to become a commissioned notary public in a particular state. Not all states have notary examinations. Many states only have a notary application and no notary examination. The prospective notary simply fills in the application and then mails it in to their state's notary division. In some cases, the whole procedure can be done online.
