Executing Witness

Function: noun

Definition 1:
Also known as a subscribing witness. Someone who swears that another particular person signed a document. An executing witness could be use in a "Proof of Execution" notary act. The executing witness would be the party to appear before the notary in a proof of execution while the principal would not be able to appear. The executing witness should know the principal signer and have seen them sign the document.
