Yep..no problem at all here if they call - I may not always be available but I will at least take the calls. If I'm not available I help them find someone else near them.

I don't mind if people call on Sunday, especially if someone needs services at a hospital and sometimes that is the only time a person has to get something notarized.

I don't particularly like being called on Sunday but won't get rude about it. I think you might want to keep in mind that many people who grew up in a religious home were taught that Sunday was God's day and your day of rest. I live in the south and I know many people who spend most of their day in Church and/or really using Sunday as their personal day for themselves. Unless it is an emergency I see no reason for anyone to call me on business on Sunday. You are asking people to respect your time frames in this mail when you state you work odd hrs and such but why should you not respect theirs too....you choose to be as busy as you are...it is a choice. They are choosing to give you the explaination because they don't want you to do it again....if you answer the question yes or no then you are reinforcing the callers behavior and they will feel free to call again. I have long calling lists, and have to call hundreds of people per week. I keep an odd schedule and have far too many things to do every day. I often have to call people on Sundays. Most people are agreeable, but some take offense as if I am somehow angering the gods by calling on Sunday.
The way I look at it is that you are professionals. If a prospective client calls you, if you are serious about growing your business, you would take the call. Otherwise, don't answer. If you do answer, at least offer the caller one minute of your respect without trying to cut them off when all they want is an answer to a yes/no question.
It would take less time to say yes or no, than to argue with the caller about how they shouldn't call on Sunday. But, try explaining that to some of these hard-liners!
