I never have the problem. I just request, the same way you do, that they sign as printed; they always do. Sometimes I wonder if it's the large Rottweiler I bring to the signing. Or perhaps it's my "gear belt" with machine gun, flame thrower, battle axe and the pair of ivory handled colt .45 "peacemakers" at my side.

I do use one little 'trick' that seems to help people. When the person needs to include a middle initial and this is NOT their usual signature (and it's legible enough to tell), I offer this tip to them: sign your name like you usually do, THEN insert the middle initial.

This way, they can just sign in their usual flow, and their brain doesn't get snagged in the middle of every signature.

What generally works for me is to tell them that when TC researched, that is apparently how they took title (Deed) and TC needs all documents--past, present & future to have the same name/s shown. They usually won't take the time to go dig up their Deed--and, if they do, guess what? The name on the docs IS how they took title.

Am I stupid or losing my mind?? Just wondering what you say when you need for someone to sign their name EXACTLY AS IT IS PRINTED so that you dont risk not getting paid. Is there a more clear way to state that? I say this and in less than 2 seconds they are scribbling something out that is an initial or not exactly how it is printed, and rushing to the next sheet to do the same thing.
If it is not a legible scribble I let it go, because who can discern what it is. I have had no repercussions in that case.
I love highly educated people who say that they cant write their middle name in cursive, and puzzle over it. Or, people who will go into a long conversation about how they never sign this way, and how their government job doesnt require it, or this and that and the other thing, God knows where they get all this jabber. Maybe its because I live in Ca where its fast paced and has had a rotten educational system for decades. Maybe its because of technology and people CANT concentrate on even the simplist things or hold a thought for 2 seconds, too much info too fast. Are they arrogant and just want to ignore me? I get this everyday. Maybe I need an English lesson in how to make myself more clear. In cases where they sign legibly but clearly NOT what is on the signature line, I have them sign an affidavit that says they refused to follow my instructions and that this is how they are signing and that it does in fact say_______ (their name) so that I can get paid and make it clear that I did my job in instructing them.
