I tracked you down through the emails and have a question for you since you indicate in our posts you have quite a few title company/bank closings.

Do you charge the avg rate of 110-125 to the bank title company as you would to a stand alone title company? I am going FT with my notary work and have not done any direct signings for the bank industry (doing this PT for 3 years). I would appreciate any input you would have. Thank you!!

I usually try not to go out my door for less than $125...sometimes it is more depending on distance! Sometimes it is less, you have to consider, amount of docs., distance, gas, paper, ink, fax backs etc. You have to make up your mind about how much is it worth to you the travel to your client.

You can start with the forum on "Posts related to not getting paid". I find that a demand letter stating that I will contact Escrow, the Lender and the Secretary of State regarding their business practice usually works, however you'll find that at some point you will get burned in this business. Better to be knowledgeable up front and know who the lowballers/slow/no-payers are and just not work for them.
