Posted - 05/11/2012 : 6:49:12 PM I just got off the phone with a really serious notary. He lives in Southern California and says he covers the whole state! He said he even got a job driving up to Northern California for a fancy bank. I told him that I bet he got paid around $500 for that signing, and he said that he did. How come I never got a job paying $500? Actually, nobody I have ever met before got paid more than $250 for a notary signing.

Posted - 05/23/2012 : 6:27:14 PM The most I ever got paid for a signing was $325. I had quoted the title company $225 - it was Christmas Eve. When I called in with closing status, he told me he was throwing in a bonus for my going out and leaving family on Christmas Eve.
I sure did hate losing that title company (they now use a signing co that hires notaries for $45 - $65 and that includes e-docs - I told them to remove my name and number from their database and never call me again)

Posted - 05/22/2012 : 05:46:31 AM and why wouldn't they just find someone closer? Unless he is a 'most preferred notary' by some LO who insists on him? Nice work if you can get it.
If you don't value your time and experience, nobody else will. |
