I corrected this on the blog. I never saw this act documented in FL notary law before, but its difficult to keep track of all 50 states +DC.
FYI - here are the authorized duties of a Florida Notary Public:
Notaries are authorized by law to perform six basic duties: Administer oaths or affirmations Take acknowledgments Attest to photocopies of certain documents Solemnize marriage Verify vehicle identification numbers (VINs) Certify the contents of a safe-deposit box
Each of these duties is explained in detail in the Florida Governor's Reference Manual for Notaries. (http://tinyurl.com/24tnfk5)

I am not an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of Florida, and I may not give legal advice or accept fees for legal advice.

We can do this in FL too...and I point this out because of the first sentence in this section.
