I've run across a situation where I think I know the correct answer, but I'd appreciate verification here.....
I have a loan document signing that's in a trust. On the Deed of Trust, one of the borrowers is listed as "Firstname Lastname, as Trustee of the (Lastname) Trust". She has a 2nd signature line of "Trust Settlor - Firstname MI Lastname".
Taking into account that one signature line has a middle initial and the other one doesn't, does that mean I have to notarize both versions of the name on the DOT....even though it's the same person?

I would contact your hiring party, or the title agent. Not knowing all of the particulars of your signing, it seems that the when the trust was created, they added the middle initial/name to it.
I'd have her sign as indicated on the signature lines.

You could use two separate Acknowledgment Certificates and Notarize both names separately and just forget that they are the same person. You can thumbprint him/them in your journal to prove that he/they is/are the same person(s).
