Posted - 12/27/2013 : 4:26:40 PM I just received a call from Stewart Title Company out of Texas to close a loan at the borrowers home. When I received the email confirmation, I realized that it was not the city/county that I thought she said. (much further) I do serve that area, but for a bit higher fee. I emailed them back to let them know. Her reply was that I needed to discuss the fee with the borrower because they aren't allowed to put the notary fees on the HUD in Texas. So, I have to get payment at the closing from the borrower.
Has anyone have any knowledge of this? I have never been asked to collect my fee from a borrower. |

Posted - 12/29/2013 : 1:14:03 PM I have done many this way. Typically, the borrower is given my name and number and told to "make the arrangements".

I just would like to know if anyone has ever been asked to do this. |
