Posted - 08/10/2013 : 06:48:40 AM You are a bit early for the assignment. However, the person(s) to sign the documents are not available yet. What do you do? After checking on the phone for email, and making any needed calls; you still have "some time on your hands" - what do you do?
I play chess. I have chess on both my phone and a small portable chess computer/game. My clients often comment on the "intellectual image" that chess playing projects. I don't do it for the "image" - I just like chess. For those familiar with ratings, I am a "average" player with about an 1100 ELO rating. I just set the computer to play with a slightly higher rating and win about 1 game in 3. It's nice that the came can be put away instantly and will wait for my next "wait" time.

Posted - 07/09/2014 : 1:01:08 PM I always try to be a little early to a loan signing at an escrow office so that I can review documents and get a good understanding of what's going on. I'll actually re-sort the loan documents a bit before signing. I'll place the most important documents to the signer up top for a look at the things they want to see most. Terms and Costs. I place lending instructions and items that the signers don't need to sign to the back. This way the signers feel comfortable seeing the information that is most important and don't get hung up on anxieties of things that don't apply to them. Usually the signing will be a breeze thereafter! I try to pre-fill out invoices and my notary journal too.
If these things are done I get lost in instagram or other iphone apps.

Posted - 06/09/2014 : 4:23:58 PM I usually use that limited spare time to clean up & read email. However, this last time I was doing a "parking lot" signing in the back of my car and did some bookkeeping while waiting for the client to fix some paperwork, since I have been pretty busy lately. There never seems to be enough time!
I will also read the paper, play spider solitaire or look up real estate for sale on my iPad, all relaxing pastimes for me. I am never bored.

Tips for using the forum
The most important feature on the forum is the search box. You can look up a particular word, phrase, name of a company, and see a potentially large list of search results with which you can obtain data. Filters are also valuable. If you want to find popular posts, you can use the number of views filter. You can also see whats new with the active topics link. Email us at info@123notary.com if you need any help using the notary forum.
Resources
The notary public resource page is valuable as it has links to all of the free information pages for notaries. Pages linked to the resource page include a page that teaches you everything you need to know to get the most out of your listing. Another page teaches you all the secrets of getting paid. There is a link to our free list of signing companies. There is also a glossary, learning tools, and much more.
If you are a notary, the free tips we give are invaluable.
