Posted - 09/28/2012 : 09:32:32 AM burns me up. I want to start faxing this to them in advance of the appt to fill out. Sitting for 20 minutes while they fiddle with this burns me up. |

Posted - 11/18/2013 : 6:23:52 PM I usually do this right up front. By the time they are done, I have filled out my Notary Journal,& can now start. Works for me.

Posted - 08/09/2013 : 1:07:10 PM I place the SOI at the bottom of the pile. While (if?) the borrower is filling it out it's the perfect time to do a page turn of all the docs looking for a mistake or oversight. By the time I have done my "double check at the table" - the borrower has processed the SOI. No time lost!

Posted - 09/28/2012 : 09:42:14 AM The SI is ostensibly to distinguish the borrower/property owner from someone with the same or similar name. I understand that the title co's are insuring title to the property etc. But what are the chances of someone with a similar or same name living at the same property too who qualifies for the loan with the same social # etc. etc. What is really happening here is called 'information mining' which is sold to data collection co's for big bucks and part of nationwide monitoring of the public for the governement. Most people buy this hook, line and sinker some, but not enough, will object, and do the most cursory job. Title co's threaten not to close without it. I resent sitting there and spending my time. |

Tips for using the forum
The most important feature on the forum is the search box. You can look up a particular word, phrase, name of a company, and see a potentially large list of search results with which you can obtain data. Filters are also valuable. If you want to find popular posts, you can use the number of views filter. You can also see whats new with the active topics link. Email us at info@123notary.com if you need any help using the notary forum.
Resources
The notary public resource page is valuable as it has links to all of the free information pages for notaries. Pages linked to the resource page include a page that teaches you everything you need to know to get the most out of your listing. Another page teaches you all the secrets of getting paid. There is a link to our free list of signing companies. There is also a glossary, learning tools, and much more.
If you are a notary, the free tips we give are invaluable.
