Posted - 06/23/2009 : 9:39:06 PM I recently took the 6 hour notary course. The teacher made the comment for those taking the Loan Signing agent course that their certificate never expires and that most csa certificates shouldn't expire.
I was just wondering since I am new if most other notary signing agents certificates expire yearly? (I understand in Ca it's not required but good to have, to get the familiarity with the docs and procedures)I could see the benefit of obtaining new information if it changes yearly. I wouldn't like to pay the renewel fee though.

Posted - 06/24/2009 : 07:51:58 AM The only one that I'm aware of that expires, is the NNA certification. I guess they feel that after two years, you unlearn everything you learned.
I do think there should be some sort of proficiency tests available (other than the Professional Skills Proficiency Exam by the Signing Registry) that would need to be taken on a yearly or bi-yearly basis. If not a test, then at least continuing education requirements, much like those of everyone else in the industry (brokers, real estate agents, etc.).
