On Thursday, January 20th, the California Assembly Appropriations Committee heard the Online Notarization bill currently moving through the California Legislature. At the hearing, the CLIN testified in strong support for the bill, along with Disability Rights California. There was no registered or oral opposition testimony given. The bill was passed out of the Appropriations Committee by a 12-0 vote and will now move on to the Assembly Floor, where a vote will be held next week.

At this time it is important that you reach out to your Assemblyman to register your support and urge an "aye" vote. You can find your representative here: https://findyourrep.legislature.ca.gov/ Click on their name to be taken to their website, then scroll to the bottom of page to find their capital office phone number. When you call, tell the staffer that you are a constituent, a California Notary and that you support AB 1093, the Remote Online Notaries Public Act and ask for an "aye" vote.
