A TX Notary must file a $10,000 four year bond with the Texas Secretary of State
TX Notary Government Code Ann. § 406.013 requires a Notary Public to use a seal to authenticate the Notary
Public's official acts

It is normal to have an inked notary seal, however, many notaries choose to get an inkless embosser stamp
as an additional way to secure a notarization. The embosser leaves a raised impression in the document
that is impossible to photocopy which is a great security precaution against counterfitters. Notary fraud
is rare, but could happen once or twice during your commission, so that extra protection is worth it.
