Idaho Notary Fees, Application, and Commission Information Idaho Notary Search Idaho Notary Fees A notary public may, for any notarial act, charge a fee not to exceed two dollars ($2.00). Become an Idaho notary public Notaries are appointed for terms of six years. Applicants must be at least eighteen years old and be a resident or employed in Idaho. Applicants must be able to read and write English and must not have been removed from office or convicted of a serious crime in the last ten years. A $10,000 bond is required. The Idaho Notary application must be submitted with a $30,00 filing fee to Secretary of State PO Box 83720 450 N 4th Street Boise ID 83720-0080 Both a notary seal and a signature are required for all notary acts. A notary journal is suggested but not required. It is not the notary's responsibility to make sure that forms are correctly filled out in Idaho. In many other states, however, it is unacceptable for a notary to notarize a document with blanks in it. There is no specific color that an Idaho notary seal needs to use.
