TN Other Information of Interest
A Tennessee notary must have a seal design that is prescribed by the Secretary of State. It must be circular with the notary's name as it appears on the commission printed at the top, the name of the county of election printed at the bottom, and the words, "State of Tennessee Notary Public" printed in the center. In many other states, the notary seal has the option of being rectangular or round.

Duties
The responsibilities of a notary in Tennessee include administering oaths, taking depositions, affidavits and acknowledgments. A notary's duties and powers can be exercised in every county of the state of TN. It is not specified that a TN notary should keep a record of all notarizations, but it is recommended. Additionally, you can infer from the statutes that you should think about keeping a bound journal. The statues allow a notary to charge $1 for recording each attestation, protest, or other instruments.
