NJ - Other Information of InterestTo become a NJ notary you must be either a New Jersey resident, or a resident of an adjoining state and have a business or office in New Jersey.
One notary act that a New Jersey notary can do is a proof of deeds. A proof of deeds is another name for a proof of execution. There is a standardized form for proofs of execution. If you have reason to believe that you will ever execute such a notary act, it makes sense to purchase a pad of such forms. Additionally, Acknowledgment and Jurat certificate form pads are an absolute necessity for all notaries. New Jersey Acknowledgment Wording (New Jersey Acknowledgment Verbiage) can be embedded into the end of a document or can be attached on a separate form.
Please read our blog for interesting information about credible identifying witnesses, Acknowledgment rules, Jurat procedures, and many other practical notary topics.
Dual state commission informationIf you are a
