Additional Notary Public Information of Interest
NH has two offices that have some similar capacities to a Notary Public. One is called a Justice of the Peace, and the other is called Commissioner of Deeds. Both positions are authorized to do certain acts typically done by Notaries Public. You can read more about it on the web site mentioned above.

Another interesting act that a NH Notary Public can perform is witnessing a signature as an act other than an acknowledgment. The Notary would certify that the signer appeared before the Notary, signed the document in front of the Notary on the date of the notarization, and was positively identified. The signer would not need to swear an oath in a "Witnessing of a signature".

We have written two very interesting blog posts about odd and eccentric NH notary laws and rules - the links are at the bottom of this page. This is interesting and entertaining reading material. Please also read about the vast wealth of notary information on our various blog categories and form.
