Interesting Information
(1) Notary applications are now done online in Delaware to enhance the speed of the whole application process. You can create a profile with your state as a Delaware notary public. One of the fields that you can't edit is your email address. One huge convenience factor of the online profile is that you can change your address on your commission just by logging in.

(2) Delaware notaries are not required to be bonded.

(3) If your name changes, indicate that on your online profile and you will get authorization paperwork to get a new notary seal with your new name.

(4) A notary journal is not required by law, although it is helpful for your records. You can record the type of notarization, i.e. Acknowledgment, Jurat, Oath, Protest, as well as information about the signer, document, and identification in your journal if you choose to get one.

(5) Personal knowledge of the signer is still acceptable in Delaware, although many other states are eliminating this type of identification since it tends to be very ambiguous how well you know a person.
