Problems with certificates.
A smudgy stamp, a missing notary signature, a blank venue, a backdated date: these are all problems with a certificate and could get you in legal trouble. Make sure certificates are filled out correctly and have correct dates. If a certificate gets damaged, you can always destroy it and create a new one without redoing the notarization. You can recreate it on the date of the notarization or even at a later date. The journal signature must be signed on the date the notary takes place, but there is no official date when the certificate has to be completed. Normally, it is done on the spot - as it should be, but abnormal situations could require differently. Just don't complete the certificate BEFORE the signer signs the document OR journal, otherwise you are in trouble!
