Notaries need to keep their faxed copies of their assignments as evidence that they were assigned a job. Their journal entries are evidence that they completed a job. The notary needs to keep a log book that lists when a job was assigned, when it was completed, and when it was paid for, and with which check # from the signing company. Its good to organize your records so that each signing company has their own file. this is complicated if you work for forty signing companies. It might be wise to keep one general log book in sequential order, and then another record for each signing company. Bill the signing companies weekly for jobs. If they take more than 30 days to pay, then start calling them regularly demanding payment. If its 60 or more days without payment, then write them up on the forums, and start sending threatening demand letters.
