Tip: Document dates

Sometimes a document will have a document date. The document date should be recorded in the notary journal as an identifying tool for the document. The document date could precede the date of the signing, or the notarization, or even come after. The document date can be whatever date the writer of the document pleases and is of no concern to the notary.
