Powers of attorney
(1) Banks have their own power of attorney form and will often NOT accept other forms
(2) Don't give advice about powers of attorney unless you are an attorney
(3) There should be a grantor and grantee in a power of attorney
(4) The grantor grants special powers to the grantee to take over certain aspects of the person's life.
(5) The grantee can sign for the grantor. My attorney says to do it this way: John Smith, as attorney in fact for Fred Smith. There are other ways of doign this, but I like this best and never had any complaints about it.
(6) You can keep generic power of attorney forms in your trunk. You might need them.
(7) There are durable, health, and banking powers of attorney to name a few.
