Tip: Embosser - introduction

Introduction
Notaries generally use an inked notary seal / stamp. Most states require an inked seal, while some only require a notary's signature on notarized documents. Some notaries prefer to use an inked embosser rather than a stamp as their official seal.

What is an embosser
An embosser is a metal seal that is usually five or six inches tall/wide and clamps a piece of paper. The embosser has the unique capacity to make a raised seal in the paper making its impression impossible to photocopy which is a huge benefit to deterring fraud.
