Tip: Terminition of commission

Termination of commission
The notary can resign their commission in writing, and then hand over their journals to the county recorder and destroy their seal. If a notary was found guilty of misconduct, their commission could be revoked, suspended, or terminated. A misstatement on the notary application is a cause for a commission to be revoked. A serious crime unrelated to their notary work or failure to keep up with alimony payments could also be a reason. If a notary breaks notary law in any substantial way and gets caught, they could lose their commission.
