Notary Commission application.
To become a notary, the process differs from state to state, but here is some general information. A prospective notary must fill out an application and submit it to their state notary division. The application will ask for general information about themselves and will ask if they have been convicted of a felony or other crime.
You could be ineligible to apply to be a notary if you have a felony or crime involving dishonesty or fraud. Some states have an online application which is much faster than mailing paperwork around.
