Won't do them. I have talked to people who have done this and years later get harassed by companies trying to collect on the amount of debt that was reduced in their negotiations years later. They sell the amount of your reduced debts to other companies who keep selling them off and eventually it catches up to you. No such thing and reducing your debts. All scam artists.

They negotiate the debt IF they are on the up and up. I've known of (personally) and read about far too many who collect thousands in peoples' money then never do anything about the debt owed. I don't get involved in them - I don't want to be a part of the debtor coming back later saying I had any part in signing him/her up with a company that took their money then did nothing.

To answer your question Jeremy, no they don't really do modifications and consolidations; cowgirl is right in her response about what they do. It's IF they do it that's an issue for me. :)

I have they work with customers to reorganized their debts and make payments monthly to the company which includes amounts for making payments to the vendors they owe money to when they reach a certain amount in savings account the attorney's start negotiating a debt settlement to clear that debt and so on til they are fulfilled and paid off

I don't know what a debt service company is. But, has anyone worked for them before? Do they do modifications and consolidations?
