Gale - stick with 123. I have a very comprehensive resource list and if you email me direclty, I'd be happy to give you the links for the other sites, some free and some not free and some not listed because we don't think they are a good value to a professional signing agent.
Whenever you're considering paying for a site, first see how they rank using the Alexa Toolbar. You can download the toolbar for free or you can inquire at their site, http://alexa.com
Most of my hits have always and continue to come from 123 and I've more than made up my expense for memberhip in signings within the first month of every year. I also credit 123 for long-lasting, money-making relationships with industry vendors.
You will be judged by potential clients on where you have your memberships and who you affiliate yourself with. I've heard it for years and still hear it.

I think that 123notary will give you the highest volume of calls. But notaryrotary has been around long time and will yeild some results. For me personally it has been 80/20. The premier will give you the best results and will pay for itself. I don't believe in free...it keeps you to low on the search lists.

Carmen-I have new respect for you! Advising a newbie to signup with a competing website, wow! You really believe in the 'notary rotary'? I listed myself in their 'free' area, without much response. I get most of my new hits from your site. Should I lay out the money for notary rotary's preferred service?

Sorry for my lack of respose Civey. I am so behind on everything. Nonetheless, you have gotten some excellent advice. It will be a slow process in the beginning. You have a lot of work to do and alot of competetion. You need to do as Joan suggests. You need to also sign up here with us at 123 as well as notaryrotary. Once you have signed up with about 100 plus signing companies you will most likely start to receive a few calls. Make sure you know your notary laws for your state.
Good Luck!

Just to start with you need to put together a great profile of yourself and advertise on this website. There are many websites that list free signing/title/escrow companies to sign up with. Be sure to sign up with 100-200 companies and call them on the phone to follow up. We have a great industry and I think you will love being a notary/loan signer!

I am new and just wanted to know the best way to start getting companies to call me. I am the only notary listed in my county that is actually a residence, so I should be getting calls.
Thanks.
