OK Other Information of Interest
When an Oklahoma notary public legally changes their name, they have the option to keep the old name on the commission, or to get a completely new notary commission with their new name.

A notary acts as an official witness to the identity of the signer who appears before them. An Oklahoma notary may witness or attest a signature, administer oaths & affirmations, take acknowledgments as well as certifying and attesting copies. Once you receive your commission, you must get your official bond before you can begin performing notary work. Oklahoma notaries may use a credible witness to identify a signer. Read about credible witnesses, Acknowledgments, and other notary issues in our blog!

To get current information about apostilles, authentications, and certificates of authentication, please contact the Oklahoma state notary division for details. Those official acts are done by the state, and very few notaries are knowledgeable enough to assist with these acts.
